Multiple local state-owned capital platforms have successively voiced their support for increasing holdings; the China Securities Index 1000 ETF Huaxia (159845) fell by 0.99%, with funds favoring the elasticity of small-cap stocks.

On July 29, the three major A-share indices fell collectively, with the Shanghai Composite Index dropping by 0.55%. As of 10:51, ChinaAMC CSI 1000 ETF (159845.SZ) declined by 0.99%. Among other broad-based indices, the SSE 50 fell 1.04%, the CSI 300 dropped 0.38%, and the CSI 500 fell 0.69%.

In terms of individual stock performance, among the top 50 weighted stocks in the CSI 1000 Index, the gainers included G-bits (+6.35%), Yinzhijie (+5.10%), Autel Robotics (+3.37%), and Zhongke Electric (+3.09%); however, Cambridge Communications Technologies and Hua Hong Semiconductor performed poorly, with declines of -9.91% and -8.08%, respectively.

Looking at sector performance, within the top heavy-weight sectors of the CSI 1000 Index, Electronics fell 4.39%, Power Equipment rose 0.15%, Pharmaceuticals & Biotech rose 1.08%, Computers fell 1.12%, and Machinery fell 1.78%.

Since July, A-shares have experienced volatile pullbacks, with capital continuously positioning for broad-based ETFs at lower levels. Analysts attribute the appeal of the CSI 1000 to three main logics: small and mid-cap stocks saw deeper overshooting during downturns and possess stronger rebound momentum; the index's expected earnings growth rate for 2026 is 25%, creating a profit scissors gap of about 17 percentage points compared to the CSI 300; and after rebalancing, the index has a more distinct tech-growth profile, covering high-momentum tracks such as AI computing power and semiconductors.

Additionally, the forces stabilizing the market through central-local coordination continue to grow. Following China Reform Holdings and China Chengtong increasing their combined equity holdings by over 60 billion yuan, state-owned asset platforms in Beijing, Shanghai, Shaanxi, and other regions have successively announced increases in holdings. Specifically, Beijing SASAC has coordinated nearly 10 billion yuan for stock market deployment, while Chang'an Huitong recently increased its stakes in several provincial state-owned listed companies via the secondary market, with its holding scale growing steadily.

A Huatai Securities research report points out that current panic indicators have reached historical extremes, with a style preference shifting towards small and mid-cap stocks. It suggests paying attention to broad-based indices like the CSI 1000.

ChinaAMC CSI 1000 ETF (159845) closely tracks the CSI 1000 Index. The CSI 1000 Index consists of 1,000 stocks with smaller market capitalizations and good liquidity, selected from all A-shares after excluding constituents of the CSI 800 Index. It comprehensively reflects the stock price performance of a batch of small-cap companies in the Chinese A-share market, including its feeder funds (Class A: 013922; Class C: 013923).
