The world is unpredictable. No matter how much fame and fortune one has, if the end comes early, it ultimately amounts to nothing but a bubble.

Life is fleeting, and gains and losses are unpredictable. One may be at the peak today, but reduced to dust tomorrow; the glory before one's eyes is but a fleeting glimmer in the long river of time. Rather than obsessing over empty fame and transient profit, it's better to hold onto one's true self and live well in the present.

Don't make wishes lightly; the heavier the wish, the deeper the obsession. Don't swear oaths lightly; oaths too full are often hard to fulfill, and oaths too wild become mere delusions.

Slow down the days, lighten the heart, eat a warm meal, walk a quiet path, sleep a peaceful sleep. These may seem insignificant, but they are the true foundation of life.

What is called a lifetime is simply living each of the countless ordinary todays well and earnestly.
