Pinduoduo says: You guys chase your AI, I'll make my money.
I saw an interesting point of view today: Pinduoduo might be the Chinese internet company that uses AI the most skillfully but talks about it the least.
Other companies hold launch events, tell AI stories, hype AI concepts... What about Pinduoduo? Not a single mention of "AI" in their earnings reports. When management is asked, they just say "we stick to our core." But open up Pinduoduo and look. Every time it pushes you that 9.9 free shipping deal, every "just one more person needed to form a group," every "flash sale"—it's all AI algorithms calculating the thickness of your wallet! Plus a ton of product images generated by AI! It knows what you want to buy today better than you do. So, don't be fooled by those AI launch events. The truly scary ones aren't the companies that talk about AI all day, but the ones quietly raking in the cash.
