Warship escort + ground troops, can this open up the Strait of Hormuz?

Donald Trump announced today that he would send troops to escort ships through the Strait of Hormuz together with many countries, especially those affected by oil prices. He said he would soon make the strait open, free, and safe.

, and what's different this time is that the US has dispatched ground troops, with numbers increasing from the previous 2,500 to 5,000. It is widely speculated that their target is Khark Island,

because this is the core hub for Iran's oil exports, handling 90% of their oil shipments, and is also the lifeline of their economy. Trump hopes to cut off their economy to force them to surrender. However, this currently seems quite difficult and could likely escalate the conflict.

But as I said before, when oil prices soar to the point of affecting the global economy, the whole world will come together to solve it. If one plan doesn't work, there will be another.

Some within Iran are also aware of this issue; they have previously come out to make conciliatory statements. For example, their Foreign Minister recently said that all countries except the US and Israel can pass through the strait. However, whether his words can be taken seriously remains a big question mark.
