Discussion on the Q4 Earnings Call
Excerpt from my chat history with Grok
CFO commented on AI product ARR, stating:
“We really feel positive about the expansion that we’re seeing within our customers… AI and agentic is going to lead the way… They’re not a separate stream. They actually are very synergistic. As people pull forward AI and agentic products from us, it actually also pulls through the rest of the platform, whether that is IDP, IXP, unattended robots, et cetera.”
(Translation: We are very positive about the expansion we are seeing within our existing customers... AI and agentic will lead the growth... They are not separate streams but highly synergistic. When customers pull forward AI and agentic products from us, it actually also pulls through the rest of the platform, such as IDP, IXP, unattended robots, etc.)
CEO Daniel Dines added:
The immense interest in AI is actually reigniting interest in automation... Any AI initiative brings more opportunities for deterministic automation... I particularly want to emphasize that the combination of deterministic automation and agentic automation, placed within the context of the same platform, is crucial.
Furthermore, the call clearly disclosed: AI product ARR has contributed approximately $200 million (a significant portion of total ARR), and over 90% of million-dollar-plus customers have already integrated AI products.
This is precisely integration, not replacement:
1. Not “customers are just testing AI and might switch platforms at any time” → Management emphasized: Customers are not “piloting AI as a separate experiment” but are directly expanding their operating models on UiPath's existing platform. AI is not a new project but is embedded into existing RPA workflows (deterministic automation + agentic AI), enabling customers to automate more processes and cover more scenarios (from simple bots to Maestro-orchestrated agentic processes).
2. AI product ARR is “incremental + pull-through effect,” not cannibalization → Clearly stated: “They’re not a separate stream. They actually are very synergistic.” AI products not only contribute ARR themselves but also pull through growth in the core RPA business (unattended robots, IDP, IXP, etc.), forming a positive feedback loop. The result is: expansion within the existing customer base, not churn; Dollar-based Net Revenue Retention (DBNRR) remains at 106% (adjusted), precisely because AI makes existing customers “spend more money, use more features.”
In a nutshell: UiPath's AI strategy is “platform upgrade + synergistic amplification,” not “new wine in old bottles or replacing old businesses.” This is completely opposite to the narrative of traditional RPA companies being disrupted by AI—here, AI has become a “moat fortifier” and “growth accelerator.”
