【A new trading plan I've been pondering】
1. Under normal circumstances, only 30% position:
① 20% in long calls from my watchlist, with at least one month to expiration;
② 10% for daily trading QQQ's expiring options, this part is further split into two halves. First, enter a 5% base position. If it takes off directly, sell it, ending the trade;
If it doesn't take off directly, there's one chance to add another 5%. If it still doesn't lift, consider a stop-loss or loss reduction. If it lifts, exit the full 10% position.
In summary, take profits and run, even if it's just a few hundred bucks, equivalent to earning some pocket money. It's also an opportunity to train market intuition, but only do one trade per day.
2. Under unusual circumstances, slowly add a 20% position, targeting long calls from my watchlist with over 3 months to expiration:
① A major drop in my watchlist not due to fundamental changes but due to overreaction to negative news, e.g., Lilly's weight loss drug not meeting weight loss expectations. This is an opportunity because it is the King of weight loss drugs.
② A major drop in my watchlist not due to fundamental changes, but on earnings release day, e.g., Tesla, TSMC.
3. Under extreme circumstances, slowly add the final 50% position, targeting long calls from my watchlist with over 6 months to expiration:
Only add when the entire market collectively sells off due to external news, i.e., a panic crash (the moment you feel so bad you want to liquidate and cut losses or don't want to open the trading app). Do not add during gradual declines or small dips.
As the saying goes, since you're playing US stocks, choose to believe. Replicate 2008, the pandemic—go all in. If you really die before dawn in the end, just accept it.
