Bloomberg earlier cited anonymous sources saying that Chinese regulators have in principle approved Alibaba, Tencent, and ByteDance to proceed to the next stage of H200 chip procurement preparations, allowing discussions on purchase quantities and other specifics. As one approval condition, Beijing will encourage these companies to purchase a certain proportion of domestic chips, though the exact ratio remains unspecified.
