I use UGL mostly as a short-term tactical tool to help hedge my portfolio. I stick to a set allocation and always think about how it affects my overall risk before making any moves.
The 2x leverage definitely makes it jumpy, but keeping to my rules keeps the whole portfolio balanced. It lets me get that short-term protection without letting my emotions take over.
