
Taiwan is becoming South Korea’s top market for memory chip export growth as TSMC packages South Korean HBM memory chips with Nvidia GPUs before shipping them to the US, media report. Taiwan accounted for 28.6% of all South Korean chip exports last year, up from 6% in 2020, a total US$27.08 billion. By contrast, South Korea’s leading buyer, China accounted for 32.7% of chips, down from 50% in 2018.
