Foldable iPhone on the Horizon?

$Apple(AAPL.US) Apple has reportedly been in discussions with suppliers to explore the possibility of establishing a trial production line for foldable iPhones in Taiwan, with the goal of mass-producing the device in India and launching it next year. The company aims to increase total smartphone shipments by 10% by 2026 and believes that introducing a highly anticipated foldable model will help achieve this target.
The core idea behind these discussions is to leverage the engineering expertise and industrial ecosystem of Apple's Taiwanese suppliers to build a small-scale pilot production line. This would allow the company to validate the device and fine-tune the parameters and manufacturing processes required for producing the foldable iPhone. Once these steps are finalized, the process will be replicated in India to facilitate large-scale production of the foldable iPhone.
This approach is expected to shorten Apple’s learning curve in producing foldable devices and ensure that mass production in India proceeds smoothly and efficiently.
