Is $Meta Platforms(META.US) testing its self-developed AI training chip?
According to the news, Meta's chip is manufactured by $Taiwan Semiconductor(TSM.US) and plans to scale up production after initial tests are successful. Meta's previous chip projects have often fallen short of expectations, and this project still faces challenges. If successful, Meta could lower costs and reduce its reliance on $NVIDIA(NVDA.US) , leading to financial gains.
It’s clear that tech giants are all pursuing self-developed AI hardware, and nobody wants to see NVIDIA's monopoly. This seems like bad news for NVIDIA. Of course, if Meta's development fails, it would mean a significant rise for NVIDIA.
