NVIDIA promises to invest $5 billion in a company co-founded by OpenAI's former chief scientist

NVIDIA has committed to investing $5 billion in Safe Superintelligence Inc., an artificial intelligence company founded by OpenAI's former chief scientist Ilya Sutskever. In addition to the funding, Safe Superintelligence will also gain access to NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin platform. The company had previously raised approximately $3 billion, with a valuation of $32 billion

Insiders revealed that NVIDIA has committed to investing $5 billion in Safe Superintelligence Inc., an artificial intelligence company founded by former OpenAI chief scientist Ilya Sutskever.

According to a joint statement released by both parties on Monday, in addition to receiving the investment, Safe Superintelligence will also gain access to NVIDIA's next-generation Vera Rubin platform. The financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Safe Superintelligence had previously raised approximately $3 billion from investors, reaching a valuation of $32 billion last year. Its investors include Andreessen Horowitz, Sequoia Capital, and DST Global.
