Minister Ma has taken action! The "first cut" of DOGE targets this department
Just hours after Trump signed an executive order to establish an advisory committee called the "Department of Government Efficiency," Musk posted that the "Department of Government Efficiency" immediately began operations, with its first action being the abolition of the "Chief Diversity Officer Executive Committee," which is currently inaccessible. Trump also signed an executive order that day to abolish the "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion" policy
The Government Efficiency Department "officially announced" that Musk could no longer hold back.
On January 21, according to Xinhua News Agency, the newly inaugurated President Trump signed an executive order on January 20, the day of his inauguration, to establish an advisory committee named the "Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE)" aimed at initiating significant reforms in the federal government.
Just a few hours later, one of the committee's leaders, Musk, posted on social media platform X announcing that the "Department of Government Efficiency" immediately began operations after its establishment, with the first measure being the abolition of the "Chief Diversity Officer Executive Committee" (CDOEC).
The committee's official website shows that the CDOEC is under the U.S. Office of Personnel Management (OPM) and serves as the main inter-agency forum for implementing and maintaining the DEIA national strategy across the federal government, responsible for "promoting diversity, equity, inclusion, and accessibility strategic plans (DEIA)."
Musk stated, "Everything has begun," and the official account of the "Department of Government Efficiency" added "Progress," along with a screenshot showing that the CDOEC website was inaccessible.
Previously, Musk had repeatedly stated that the federal government's more than 400 agencies "only 99 are enough," and that he would "cut $2 trillion from the approximately $6.75 trillion annual budget of the U.S. federal government." Although Musk later retracted his initial statement, he expressed confidence in finding $1 trillion to cut.
It is noteworthy that the actions of DOGE were taken immediately after the Trump administration began to abolish the "Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI)" policies on its first day in office. Previously, Trump had instructed senior officials from the Office of Management and Budget (OMB) and the Office of Personnel Management to identify which programs needed to be eliminated. According to informed sources:
"This directive requires OMB and OPM to coordinate with various agencies to eliminate all programs deemed discriminatory, including illegal (DEI) policies, programs, preferences, and activities."
Additionally, Xinhua's report indicated that multiple lawsuits arose on the same day DOGE was established. Just minutes after Trump announced the formation of the Department of Government Efficiency, several government employee unions, oversight agencies, and public interest organizations filed lawsuits against Tesla, the Office of Management and Budget
