Trump's Inaugural Address Full Text: The Golden Age of America Starts Now!

In his first speech after being sworn in on Monday in the Capitol Rotunda, Trump portrayed himself as the only person capable of saving America from recession and hinted at the first actions he would take upon taking office.

Here is the transcript of the speech:

Thank you, thank you all, thank you very much. Thank you very, very much. Vice President Vance, Speaker of the House Johnson, Senator Toon, Chief Justice Roberts, and the Justices of the Supreme Court.

President Clinton, President Bush, President Obama, President Biden, Vice President Harris, and my fellow Americans, the golden age of America begins now.

From today, our country will prosper again and regain respect around the world. We will become the envy of every nation, and we will no longer allow ourselves to be bullied.

Every day of the Trump administration, I will put America first.

Our sovereignty will be reclaimed. Our security will be restored. The scales of justice will be rebalanced. The weaponization of the Department of Justice and our government against us with malice, violence, and injustice will come to an end.

Our top priority is to build a proud, prosperous, and free nation. America will soon become greater, stronger, and more exceptional than ever before.

I return to the presidency with confident optimism, believing that we are at the beginning of an exciting new era of national success. A wave of change is sweeping across the nation, sunlight is shining around the world, and America has an unprecedented opportunity to seize this moment.

But first, we must honestly confront the challenges we face. While there are many challenges, they will be destroyed by the great momentum that America is currently witnessing.

As we gather here today, our government is facing a crisis of trust. For years, a radical and corrupt system has seized power and wealth from our citizens, while the pillars of our society lie in ruins, seemingly completely neglected.

Our current government cannot even handle simple domestic crises while repeatedly falling into disastrous events overseas.

It has failed to protect our great law-abiding American citizens while providing shelter and protection for dangerous criminals, many of whom come from prisons and mental hospitals, illegally entering our country from around the world. Our government provides unlimited funding to protect foreign borders but refuses to protect American borders, or more importantly, to protect our own people.

Our country is unable to provide basic services in emergencies, as recently demonstrated by the excellent people of North Carolina. They have been treated so poorly. And several other states are still suffering from the aftermath of hurricanes that occurred months ago.

Or more recently in Los Angeles, we are witnessing wildfires that continue to burn relentlessly. They have swept through homes and communities unprepared for weeks, even affecting some of the wealthiest and most powerful people in our nation, some of whom are sitting right here. They are now homeless. It’s quite ironic.

But we cannot let this happen. No one can do anything about it. This situation will change. We have a public health system that does not work in times of disaster, yet we spend more on this system than any other country in the worldAnd we have an education system that, in many cases, teaches our children to feel shame, to hate our country, even though we try desperately to give them love. Starting today, all of this will change, and it will change very quickly.

My recent election is a mission to completely reverse a terrible betrayal, and all the betrayals that have occurred, to return to the people their faith, wealth, democracy, and freedom.

From this moment on, the decline of America is over.

Our freedom and the glorious destiny of our nation will no longer be denied. We will immediately restore the integrity, capability, and loyalty of the American government.

In the past eight years, I have faced more trials and challenges than any president in our 250-year history. In the process, I have learned a lot. I can tell you that reviving our republic is not easy.

Those who want to stop our cause have tried to deprive me of my freedom, even to take my life.

Just a few months ago, on that beautiful Pennsylvania field, a bullet from an assassin passed through my ear. But at that moment, and even more so now, I felt deep in my heart that my life was saved for a reason. I was saved by God to make America great again.

Thank you, thank you very much.

That is why under our American patriots' management, every day we will face every crisis with dignity, strength, and power.

We will bring back hope, prosperity, safety, and peace for every citizen of every race, religion, color, and belief with purposeful action and swift steps. For American citizens, January 20, 2025, is Liberation Day.

I hope our recent presidential election will be remembered as the greatest and most impactful election in our nation's history.

As our victory indicates, the nation is quickly uniting under our agenda, with support rates rising significantly across almost all social strata: whether young or old, male or female, African American, Hispanic American, Asian American, whether in urban, suburban, or rural areas, and more importantly, we achieved strong victories in all seven swing states, winning the popular vote by millions.

To the Black and Hispanic communities, I want to thank you for the immense love and trust you expressed to me through your votes. We set records, and I will not forget any of this.

I heard your voices during the campaign, and I look forward to working with you in the years to come. Today is Martin Luther King Jr. Day, a great honor. In his memory, we will work together to make his dream a reality. We will achieve his dream.

National unity is returning to America, and confidence and pride are at an unprecedented high. In everything we do, my government will be driven by a strong pursuit of excellence and relentless success.

We will not forget our country, we will not forget our Constitution, we will not forget our God. We cannot do that.

Today I will sign a series of historic executive orders. Through these actions, we will begin the full restoration of America and ignite a revolution of common sense. It is all about common sense

After years of illegal and unconstitutional restrictions on free speech by the federal government, I will also sign an executive order to immediately stop all government censorship and restore free speech in America.

The immense power of the state will never again be weaponized to persecute political opponents, a point I deeply understand. We will not allow this to happen. This will not happen again.

Under my leadership, we will restore fair, equal, and just justice under the rule of constitutional law. We will bring law and order back to our cities.

This week, I will also end the government's attempts to incorporate race and gender into every aspect of public and private life. We will create a society that selects based on merit, regardless of skin color.

From today, the official policy of the United States government will state that there are only two genders: male and female.

This week, I will reappoint all military personnel who were unjustly dismissed for opposing mandatory COVID-19 vaccinations and will fully reimburse their salaries.

I will sign an order to stop our warriors from being forced to accept radical political theories and social experiments while on duty. This will end immediately. Our armed forces will focus on their sole mission: defeating America's enemies.

Just like in 2017, we will once again build the strongest military in the world. Our success will not only be measured by how many battles we win but also by how many wars we end, and perhaps most importantly, which wars we do not get involved in.

My proudest legacy will be as a peacemaker and unifier. That is who I want to be, a peacemaker and unifier. I am pleased to announce that as of yesterday, the hostages in the Middle East are returning to their families. Thank you.

America will regain its rightful place as the greatest, most powerful, and most respected nation on Earth, inspiring awe and admiration around the world. Soon, we will rename the Gulf of Mexico to the Gulf of America.

We will restore the name of the great President William McKinley to Mount McKinley, where it should be and belongs. President McKinley made our nation very wealthy through tariffs and talent. He was a natural businessman who funded many great things for Teddy Roosevelt, including the Panama Canal, which was later foolishly handed over to the country of Panama.

I mean, think about it, America spent an unprecedented amount of money on the construction of the Panama Canal and sacrificed 38,000 lives. We have been treated very unfairly for this foolish gift that should not have been made.

Panama has broken its promise to us. The purpose of our agreement and the spirit of the treaty have been completely violated. American ships are being charged exorbitant fees and are not being treated fairly at all. This includes the U.S. Navy... we will reclaim it.

Most importantly, what I want to say to the American people today is that it is time for us to act again with courage, vitality, and the vigor of the greatest civilization in history. Therefore, as we liberate our nation, we will lead it to new heights of victory and success. We will not be intimidatedWe will jointly end the epidemic of chronic diseases, ensuring that our children are safe, healthy, and free from illness.

America will once again see itself as a developing nation, one that increases our wealth, expands our territory, builds our cities, elevates our expectations, and carries our flag toward new and beautiful prospects.

We will pursue our manifest destiny, reaching for the stars, sending American astronauts to Mars, and planting the Stars and Stripes on Mars.

Ambition is the lifeline of great nations. And now, our country is more ambitious than any other. No other nation can compare to ours. Americans are explorers, builders, innovators, entrepreneurs, and pioneers. The pioneering spirit is ingrained in our hearts.

The call for the next great adventure echoes from the depths of our souls. Our American ancestors transformed a small group of colonies on the edge of a vast continent into a powerful republic of the most extraordinary citizens on Earth. Unmatched.

Americans traversed thousands of miles of rugged wilderness. They crossed deserts, climbed mountains, faced dangers, conquered the wild West, ended slavery, rescued millions from tyranny, lifted billions out of poverty, harnessed electricity, split atoms, sent humanity to the heavens, and placed the universe of human knowledge in the hands of mankind.

If we work together, there is nothing we cannot achieve and no dream we cannot realize.

Many believed I could not stage such a historic political comeback. But as you see today, I did. The American people have spoken.

I stand before you now to prove that you should never believe that some things are impossible. In America, the impossible is what we do best.

From New York to Los Angeles, from Philadelphia to Phoenix, from Chicago to Miami, from Houston to here in Washington, D.C., our nation has been forged and built by generations of patriots who gave their all for our rights and freedoms.

They were farmers and soldiers, cowboys and factory workers, steelworkers and coal miners, police officers and pioneers, who pressed on, moving forward, never allowing any obstacle to defeat their spirit or pride.

They laid the railroads together, built skyscrapers, constructed great highways, won two world wars, defeated fascism... overcoming every challenge they faced.

After we have gone through all of this together, we are about to enter the greatest four years in American history. With your help, we will restore America's promise, and we will rebuild the country we love.

We are one nation, one family, a glorious country under God’s blessing. So, to every parent dreaming for their children, and to every child dreaming for the future, I stand with you, I will fight for you, I will win for you. We will achieve unprecedented victories.

We will become an unparalleled nation, filled with compassion, courage, and excellenceOur strength will stop all wars and bring a new spirit of unity to this world filled with anger, violence, and complete unpredictability.

America will be respected and admired once again, including by people of faith and goodwill. We will prosper, we will be proud, we will be incredibly strong, and we will win like never before.

We will not be conquered, we will not be threatened, we will not be defeated, we will not fail. From today, the United States of America will be a free, sovereign, and independent nation.
