Wang Zhiqin, the head of the IMT-2030 promotion group, stated that research on 6G technology standards will begin in June 2025, with technical specifications expected to be completed by 2029. Major global regions are advancing their 6G plans, including the EU's Hexa-X project and China's IMT-2030 promotion group. Janne Peisa, head of Ericsson's network standards and industry initiatives, emphasized the importance of a unified global 6G standard and advocated for avoiding past mistakes in 6G standardization, supporting the adoption of an independent networking model. The commercialization timeline for 6G is expected to be after 2029, with the current focus on the formulation of technology and standards
