Mercedes-Benz Group AG announced on the 4th that it plans to invest over 14 billion RMB in cooperation with Chinese partners to further enrich the localization product lineup of passenger cars and light commercial vehicles, accelerate technological innovation, and launch heavyweight products in China.
According to the announcement released by Mercedes-Benz Group AG on that day, the plan is to jointly invest over 10 billion RMB and 4 billion RMB in passenger cars and light commercial vehicle businesses with Chinese partners, respectively. In addition, the strategic layout of the group's transformation, advanced technological innovation, and latest heavyweight products will continue to land in China at "Chinese speed."
The announcement stated that Mercedes-Benz will further participate in the high-end manufacturing, new energy vehicles, intelligent connected vehicles, and related industrial chain development in Beijing, Fuzhou, and surrounding areas, injecting new momentum into local new quality productivity and industrial cluster development.

It is reported that after more than 20 years of localization development in China, Mercedes-Benz has the world's largest Mercedes-Benz passenger car manufacturing base in China, as well as the most comprehensive research and development network covering areas outside its headquarters in Germany. In recent years, Mercedes-Benz has continuously increased its research and development investment in China, with a total investment of 10.5 billion RMB over the past five years.
