According to the report from Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, Alphabet-C, Walmart, and Phillip Morris had the least short interest in July. The short interest ratio of Alphabet-C was 0.33%, a decrease of 4.97% from the end of June; Walmart had a short interest ratio of 0.46%; while Phillip Morris accounted for 0.59%, with a month-on-month decrease of 8% in short positions. At the same time, American Airlines, Etsy, and American International Group became the most shorted constituents
According to the Vantage Smart Finance APP, Alphabet-C (GOOG.US), Walmart (WMT.US), and Phillip Morris (PM.US) were among the least shorted stocks in the S&P 500 index in July.
As of July 31st, 0.33% of Alphabet-C (GOOG.US) shares were shorted. In July, the short interest in this American technology company decreased, with traders shorting 40.72 million shares of Google stock, a 4.97% decrease from the end of June. Alphabet-A (GOOGL.US) had 0.53% of its shares shorted in July.
Walmart ranked second, with 0.46% of its shares shorted as of July 31st. The retailer rebounded last week after raising its annual outlook, with short interest increasing by 2.2% this month to 37.36 million shares, compared to 36.56 million shares shorted at the end of June.
Phillip Morris ranked fourth, with 9.12 million shares shorted, accounting for 0.59% of the total outstanding shares. Short interest in this tobacco company decreased by 8% compared to the previous month.
