Apple Inc. has released the first version of its artificial intelligence feature, Apple Intelligence. According to Zhitong Finance APP, Apple (AAPL.US) released the first version of its artificial intelligence (AI) feature, Apple Intelligence, on Monday. This feature aims to improve Siri, automatically generate emails and images, and categorize notifications.
The new software has been released in the developer beta of iOS 18.1, with similar versions for iPad and Mac, currently only open to registered Apple developers. Apple's developer program charges $99 annually.
Furthermore, users must register on a waiting list in Apple's Settings app after updating to access the service, which involves sending more complex requests to Apple's servers.
Later this year, the new feature will be open to the public, but the 18.1 version number indicates that Apple Intelligence will not be released alongside new iPhone hardware. New iPhone hardware is expected to be released in the fall, running iOS 18.
Apple Intelligence is a significant move for Apple. Investors hope that the tight integration of artificial intelligence with Apple's operating system will trigger a wave of upgrades in the coming years, especially considering that the system is only compatible with iPhone 15 Pro, iPhone 15 Pro Max, and newer versions.
Bank of America analyst Wamsi Mohan stated on Monday, "We expect that with the improvement of artificial intelligence features (software and possible hardware) on the iPhone by 2025, the strong cycle of the iPhone will last even longer."
