Comcast launches streaming service bundling Netflix and Apple TV+ at $15 per month. The service will be available to Xfinity customers in the US on May 29. This move aims to attract customers who are cautious about subscribing and paying for multiple individual services. The CEO of Comcast stated that this service can save customers over 30% in costs. Previously, Warner Bros. and Disney have also announced similar collaborations
According to Zhitong Finance, media and broadband company Comcast (CMCSA.US) announced on Tuesday that it will bundle its Peacock streaming service with Netflix (NFLX.US) and Apple's (AAPL.US) Apple TV+, offering a $15 monthly service to all Xfinity internet and TV customers.
Comcast Cable CEO David Watson stated at the J.P. Morgan Technology, Media, and Communications Conference that the new bundled service, StreamSaver, is a "companion to broadband" that can save customers over 30% in costs. Users can also combine StreamSaver with Comcast's latest offering, "NOW TV," which includes over 40 streaming channels for a monthly fee of $30.
Due to concerns about market saturation, streaming platforms are bundling services at discounted prices to attract customers who are cautious about signing up and paying for multiple individual services. Watson said in a statement, "For consumers looking for top entertainment and live sports, StreamSaver is a home run."
Comcast stated that this service will launch on May 29 in the United States for Xfinity customers, including subscriptions to ad-supported Netflix Standard, Peacock Premium, and Apple TV+. This is the latest collaboration between streaming companies, following Warner Bros. Discovery (WBD.US) and Disney (DIS.US) announcing a similar partnership on May 8, offering bundled services for Disney+, Hulu, and Max streaming services
