When ChatGPT took over Apple, Claude had just landed in Europe

OpenAI announced a major update of GPT-4o late at night, causing a sensation. Earlier reports revealed that Apple had reached an agreement with OpenAI. Meanwhile, Anthropic, backed by Amazon's investment, announced that its large-scale model Claude will land in the European market starting from Tuesday, opening up to individual and corporate users in Europe through webpages and an iOS App.
In order to provide users with full functionality, Anthropic has launched a paid subscription service "Claude Pro," offering its most advanced AI model, Claude 3 Opus. Additionally, the company will also introduce the "Claude Team" subscription plan for enterprise users, with a monthly fee of 28 euros (approximately 30 US dollars).
Anthropic stated that its Claude assistant is proficient in major European languages such as French, German, Italian, and Spanish. Claude has previously been launched in the UK, marking its debut in EU countries as well as other European countries including Norway, Switzerland, and Iceland.
When launching Claude in Europe, Anthropic's CEO Dario Amodei emphasized the company's commitment to "accuracy, security, and privacy protection" in designing Claude. This focus is linked to the increasingly stringent regulations brought about by the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology.
Earlier this year, the European Parliament passed the world's first major artificial intelligence regulatory framework, the "AI Act," aimed at establishing corresponding rules based on the risk level of AI systems, categorizing risks into low, medium, high, and unacceptable levels.
Recently, Anthropic has become a hot new player in the field of artificial intelligence, with a valuation as high as 18.4 billion US dollars. In March of this year, Amazon announced an investment of 2.75 billion US dollars in Anthropic, bringing the total investment in the company to 4 billion US dollars.
