Another important designer at Apple is leaving, with almost all members of the former soul designer Jony Ive's team departing
According to media reports, almost all designers from the Apple Jony Ive era have left, leaving Apple struggling to find suitable replacements for the departed designers. Currently, a large part of Apple's design team has joined Ive's new design company, LoveFrom, which is currently collaborating with brands such as Airbnb and Ferrari
Jony Ive is a very famous former design chief of Apple, leading a team that designed many iconic products such as the iPhone, iPad, and Apple Watch. However, since his departure from Apple in 2019, the design team he once led has gradually disbanded.
On May 8th, media reports cited sources saying that another designer, Duncan Kerr, is set to leave Apple. Since joining Apple in 1999, he has played a significant role in the design of multiple generations of iPhone, iPad, and Mac. With his departure and that of other designers, the legendary team led by Jony Ive has almost entirely left. An Apple spokesperson declined to comment on this news.
Prior to this, after Ive himself left in 2019, many top designers like Jody Akana have also left one after another. Over the past year, key members have also left, including Evans Hankey, who succeeded Ive and served as Apple's head of industrial design, also left Apple last year.
Reportedly, a large part of Apple's design team has joined Ive's new design company, LoveFrom, which is currently collaborating with brands like Airbnb, Ferrari, and others.
Currently, Apple's design team reports directly to the company's Chief Operating Officer, Jeff Williams, a change that has left some designers dissatisfied. According to media reports, Apple is also facing challenges in finding suitable candidates to replace the departing designers
