WSB Hot Discussion | NVIDIA's most powerful chip, scaring AMD's stock price?
Lao Huang once said, when AMD is 0 and NVIDIA is 9, we haven't paid attention to AMD for a long time
NVIDIA has launched the world's most powerful AI chips, the GPU chips B200 and GB200 based on the Blackwell architecture. The training performance of the Blackwell GPU is 4 times that of the previous generation Hopper GPU, the inference performance is 30 times, and the energy efficiency is about 25 times.
NVIDIA rose from nearly 4% to 1% overnight, while competitor AMD once plummeted 7% intraday. In 2016, when asked about his views on the competition between NVIDIA and AMD, Huang Renxun, an early AMD employee, said: "When AMD is 0 and NVIDIA is 9, we haven't paid attention to AMD for a long time."
Chip stocks remain popular, with NVIDIA, AMD, and TSMC leading the way;
Trump concept stock DWAC ranks fourth in popularity, as Trump has recently made headlines again due to legal disputes;
AI tech stock SMCI ranks sixth in popularity, with its stock price continuing to decline recently. Due to a high-priced share placement, the company plans to issue 2 million common shares at a price of $875 per share, expecting to raise $1.75 billion. The issuance is expected to be completed around March 22, 2024. The company plans to use the proceeds from this issuance to support its operations, including purchasing inventory and other operational funding needs, expanding production capacity, and increasing research and development investments. Some retail investors call it "cutting leeks," while others express support due to its strong performance;
Blockchain concept stock MSTR ranks seventh in popularity, with its stock price recently falling due to a recent decline in BTC, down 14% in the past 7 days:
Tesla ranks eighth in popularity, with the overnight rebound losing steam, currently up about 0.6% pre-market;
Mexican food giant CMG ranks 18th in popularity, as its stock price has surged more than 10 times since 2018, reaching $2797, prompting a 1-for-50 stock split.
