On the eve of the earnings report, NVIDIA "dangled another carrot."
B100, GB200, Blackwell... GTC 2024 will cover everything about artificial intelligence.
Before NVIDIA releases its earnings report, an official preview of a key event!
The 2024 Graphics Technology Conference (GTC), known as the "First AI Developer Conference," will officially open on March 18th local time. NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang will deliver a keynote speech, possibly revealing more details about the B100.
When it comes to the performance reports released by companies, besides the financial results, the market often pays more attention to the profit expectations of the company. This is because it is related to the growth value of the company. Speaking of NVIDIA's expected profit level, we have to mention the "strongest in history" AI chip, the B100.
The B100 is the next-generation AI chip that NVIDIA plans to launch. Its inference speed is said to be three times faster than the H100, and it is expected to be officially launched later this year. If the B100 is released as planned, it will further defend NVIDIA's dominant position in the AI hardware field.
From a product perspective, the new product B100 is crucial for NVIDIA to maintain profitability. Strong profitability can ensure that NVIDIA's stock price does not become overly "overvalued" while soaring. Bank of America analyst Arya believes that NVIDIA's pricing will be at least 10%-30% higher than the H100, and demand may continue until at least the mid to late 2025.
In the third-quarter earnings report, NVIDIA expects a revenue of $20 billion for Q4 2024, with a fluctuation of 2%, equivalent to a guidance range between $19.6 billion and $20.4 billion. Analysts predict that the average revenue for the fourth quarter will be relatively lower, at $17.9 billion, a year-on-year growth of about 196%; it is expected that NVIDIA's total revenue for this fiscal year will increase by 56% compared to the previous year, slightly lower than $92 billion.
GTC 2024: Everything about Artificial Intelligence
This year's GTC will be the first offline conference in four years. The conference content generally includes lectures, workshops, developer activities, but the most anticipated is the opening keynote speech by Jensen Huang.
Before the global technology storm caused by artificial intelligence, the themes of GTC conferences were mostly related to data center and workstation technologies, hardly touching the consumer-grade graphics field. However, this year, the key theme of GTC will be "Everything about Artificial Intelligence."
In addition to the previously mentioned B100, GTC 2024 may also introduce the next-generation Blackwell architecture and the GB200 product, and discuss new general-purpose GPUs.
In the official trailer, there is a focus on generative AI applications, showcasing the WPP/NVIDIA engine for digital advertising, the newly launched Chat with RTX, the industrial metaverse supported by SyncTwin, AI art from Refik Anadol Studio, and OpenAI's code generation for Blender animations.
