On Monday, NVIDIA launched the GeForce RTX 40 Super series graphics cards, claiming that they can inject powerful AI technology into gaming and creation, providing the ultimate way to experience AI on personal computers (PCs).

Support for PC, Super series leading the AI PC track?

NVIDIA claims that the Super series graphics cards allow users to better utilize artificial intelligence on PCs without relying on remote services accessed through the internet.

The concept behind AI PC is that consumers and enterprise users can access AI applications generated from their own devices, which prevents their private data from being uploaded to the cloud or used to train AI models, ensuring data and information security.

NVIDIA also claims that the company is in a leading position in the AI PC competition, with its graphics cards being the best engines driving new laptops and desktops.

In fact, before NVIDIA, Lenovo had already launched two AI PC products. Analysts generally believe that 2024 is expected to be the year of AI PC popularization.

After the epidemic, PC shipments plummeted, bringing heavy inventory pressure to manufacturers and component suppliers, and the market growth was weak. Analysts believe that AI is expected to drive a large demand for PC upgrades, leading the PC industry into a new cycle of growth.

According to Qunzhi Consulting, the shipment of AI PCs is expected to reach 13 million units in 2024, with a market penetration rate of 7%, approaching 30% in 2025, and exceeding 50% in 2026.

Higher performance, faster speed

NVIDIA introduced that the Super series includes three new products: GeForce RTX 4080 Super, GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super, and GeForce RTX 4070 Super.

It is reported that these three graphics cards are equipped with dedicated Tensor cores, which not only surpass the previous generation products in performance but also have the superpower of NVIDIA's advanced ray tracing and AI technology platform RTX, enhancing the performance of gaming, applications, and AI tasks.GeForce RTX 4080 Super is said to provide support for fully ray-traced games at 4K resolution, with a speed 1.4 times faster than the RTX 3080 Ti, even without activating DLSS (AI rendering) mode. With DLSS 3 enabled, the speed of GeForce RTX 4080 Super is twice that of the RTX 3080 Ti.

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti SUPER, optimized for 1440p and 4K resolutions, is 1.6 times faster than the RTX 3070 Ti, and with DLSS 3 enabled, its speed can increase by up to 2.5 times.

Furthermore, it is reported that the GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER has a 20% increase in core frequency compared to the same series of products, surpassing the performance of the RTX 3090, and with lower power consumption. With DLSS 3 enabled, the speed of GeForce RTX 4070 SUPER is 1.5 times higher than that of the RTX 3090.

More Cost-Effective

It is worth noting that although the Super series has more powerful performance, the prices have not increased significantly.

GeForce RTX 4070 Ti Super will be released on January 24th, starting at $799 (CNY 6499);

GeForce RTX 4080 Super will be released on January 31st, starting at $999 (CNY 8099);

In addition, RTX 4070 Super will be released on January 17th, with a retail price of $599 (CNY 4899).

The low-cost chip market has always been dominated by AMD, but with the introduction of the Super series by NVIDIA, users can now get a higher performance experience at the same low price.

Furthermore, compared to the "reduced quantity without reduced price" RTX 4090D, the newly released RTX 40 Super series by NVIDIA appears to be more cost-effective.
