Renowned tech blogger: Apple plans to release a generative AI tool in June.

Apple, which has been far behind in the field of artificial intelligence competitions, is now catching up.

On Sunday, well-known tech blogger Mark Gurman revealed in the latest issue of "Power On" that Apple plans to launch a series of generative AI tools at the Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June as part of the iOS 18 system. The underlying work of these AI tools is being done on a large-scale language model called Ajax within Apple, which has been tested since early last year.

Reports indicate that Apple plans to completely transform and upgrade its voice assistant Siri. The new version of Siri will have more natural conversational abilities and provide a more personalized user experience. According to previous reports, the new version of Siri is expected to be able to transfer conversation information across devices and provide Apple's "exclusive creative services."

The new version of Siri will directly compete with Alphabet-C Assistant, which has already integrated Alphabet-C's generative AI chatbot, Bard. Earlier data from Alphabet-C showed that Alphabet-C Assistant is already running on over 1 billion devices.

Apple plans to add "automatic summarization" and "auto-completion" features to its core applications and productivity software, such as Pages and Keynote, integrating AI technology into Apple's services to optimize the automatic playlist generation function.

In addition, Apple is developing a new version of Xcode and other AI development tools for developers. Apple is building a new AI system to help AppleCare employees solve problems.

Gurman believes that Apple's vision in the field of generative AI will not be fully realized until at least 2025, and the AI features launched this year will prioritize meeting the needs of iOS 18 and Siri.
